General Conditions of Use of the PondMapp Portal
The Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas – CSIC) hereby informs users that access to and use of the website www.pondmapp.org (or the corresponding official domain), as well as all subdomains and directories included therein (hereinafter jointly referred to as the Portal), are subject to the terms and conditions set out in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to the fact that access to certain services or contents may require acceptance of additional general or specific conditions.
The PondMapp Portal is a scientific and technical initiative linked to the CSIC, aimed at the collection, visualisation and analysis of information related to wetlands, ponds and associated ecosystems, for research, dissemination and decision-support purposes.
The CSIC reserves the right to make changes to the Portal at any time and without prior notice, in order to update, correct, modify, add or remove contents or design elements. As information updates may not be immediate, users are advised to periodically verify the validity and accuracy of the information published. Likewise, the terms and conditions contained in this Legal Notice may be amended, and users are encouraged to review them whenever they access the Portal.
The CSIC shall not be liable for any damages or losses that may arise from the use of the information, tools or contents available on the PondMapp Portal in relation to administrative, technical or scientific decision-making. Such decisions should, where appropriate, be verified with the competent authorities or bodies. Under no circumstances may the information contained on this Portal be invoked in proceedings against the Public Administration, and the CSIC assumes no responsibility for any discrepancies that may exist between official administrative documents and the electronic information published on this Portal.
Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights
The design of the Portal, its source codes, as well as the logos, trademarks and other distinctive signs appearing therein, are the property of the CSIC or collaborating entities and are protected by the applicable legislation on intellectual and industrial property.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the information available on this website may be reused. Total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and public communication are authorised, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, subject to the following conditions:
The content of the information must not be distorted under any circumstances.
The user must cite the source of the reused documents.
The user must indicate the date of the last update of the reused documents.

Users wishing to establish a hyperlink between their website and the PondMapp Portal must take into account the following:
The establishment of a hyperlink does not imply, in any case, the existence of a relationship between the CSIC and the owner of the linking website, nor the acceptance or endorsement by the CSIC of its contents or services.
The CSIC shall not be responsible for, nor guarantee, the quality, accuracy, reliability or legality of the contents or services accessible through linked websites.
The website establishing the hyperlink may not contain trademarks, trade names, logos, slogans or other distinctive signs belonging to the CSIC, except those that form part of the hyperlink itself.
The linking website must not contain unlawful content, content contrary to morality, public order or generally accepted good customs, nor content that infringes the rights of third parties.
Frames
The CSIC expressly prohibits the use of framing or any other mechanisms by third parties that alter the original design, configuration or contents of the PondMapp Portal.
Privacy and Personal Data Protection
The automated collection and processing of personal data obtained through the PondMapp Portal are intended to manage the services requested by users, handle submitted enquiries, and support scientific or technical data collection related to the objectives of the project.
The legal basis for processing is the data subject’s consent and the necessity of the processing for the performance of the public functions and missions entrusted to the CSIC, which acts as the data controller. Personal data shall be retained for the period necessary depending on the purpose and service for which they were collected.
In accordance with applicable regulations, the CSIC makes publicly available its Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) through the Transparency section of its corporate website. This record specifies, for each processing activity, the identity of the controller, the legal basis, the purposes of processing, data categories, retention periods and the general description of technical and organisational security measures.
Pursuant to Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related legislation, the CSIC undertakes to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data by applying appropriate technical and organisational measures in accordance with the National Security Framework (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad).
Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing or data portability at any time by submitting a written request to the CSIC General Secretariat at C/ Serrano 117, 28006 Madrid (Spain), or through the CSIC Electronic Register available on its Electronic Headquarters, for which a recognised electronic certificate is required.
Users may also contact the CSIC Data Protection Officer through the email address officially designated for this purpose by the CSIC.
The CSIC reserves the right to amend this privacy policy in order to adapt it to legislative, case-law or interpretative developments issued by the Spanish Data Protection Authority. Any relevant changes will be duly announced on the Portal.
Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
The applicable law in the event of any dispute or conflict regarding the interpretation of the terms contained in this Legal Notice, as well as any matter related to the services of the PondMapp Portal, shall be Spanish law.
For the resolution of any dispute that may arise from access to or use of the Portal, the CSIC and the user agree to submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the user’s place of residence, provided that it is located within Spanish territory.
